Day 9
Well i'm fucked! Slight hazy head but not the first time that i've gone skating still feeling a little drunk from the night before! Skating is probably the best remedy for feeling a bit shady, well not 10 hours of it! The road to 'Saltash' was pretty horrible, i think it was the way i was feeling that didn't help, after a few hours and sweating out the alcohol in my body i begun to feel alot better. From 'Saltash' it was back on the A38 heading towards 'Liskeard', i had decided to take an A road instead of a B road and i was glad i had, there was yet again a lack of paths to skate so it was in the road and prepare myself for some abuse from drivers and also an opportunity for some more international sign language, i wish they all knew what i was doing and maybe there attitude would be different? Once i had hit 'Liskeard' i was faced with a decision- to head down to St Austell and have a short skate to Newquay the next day or push on and just get the job done? 19 miles or could my body hang out long enough to do 30? Being so close to the finish of this skate i made the decision of going on to Newquay. I had pumped myself up so much for this last bit as i knew it was going to kill me! So that was it, i was on the road to Newquay and had passed the A390 to St Austell- no going back now! The A30 was a good wide bit of road and was a god send with the fact that it made it more relaxing to skate along, after passing through Victoria and Castle an Dinas it was onto the A39 and then onto the A392 towards Quintrell Downs, by this time i really just wanted it to be over, my body is hurting so much i cant explain the pain i was feeling. I had about 6 miles to go, that's about an hour! Well bout an hour an a half later i was fucking there, i had made it! I had just skateboarded from Maidstone to Newquay! Jesus Christ i had done it and i must admit i was a bit emotional about it! FUCKING AVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Day 8
Ouch!! After eventually getting a good night sleep mainly because of one of the guy's snoring his head off! It was time yet again to head off on the road again, i am at this point feeling royally fucked, not just physically but also mentally- my mind needs fixing! I-pod is in need today as i don't want to be thinking to much!! After going to see the guy's at 'Harbour Sports' and Tim at 'The Boarding House' it was off on the road towards Plymouth, once i had hit the A38 i knew i was going to have a tough day ahead. First point in the journey was Ashburton which was a fairly harsh skate but i knew at this point i was about half way there, i tend to set myself little places to get to in a certain time so i no im on track, also i do tend to just switch off these day's more so than before. From 'Ashburton' it was towards the next goal which was to be 'Ivybridge' where it was also time for a rest! After some well needed rest it was time for the last stint of the mission which i knew was going to hurt alot! By this time i was already feeling completely shattered but i had to press on! After what felt like a lifetime i had made it!!! And boy was i wrecked! I was due to stay at my friend Tom's place that night but he was working untill 3am and i would have to meet up with him then to get a lift back to his! Shit! So i did what anyone else would of done and had a few beers-well quiet a few!! Eventually it was time to rest, well for about 6 hours that is before doing another portion of the journey! God i feel broken!
Day 7
So after a strange evening in Lyme Regis it was off on the road for the next part of the journey, next destination was to be Exeter and from what Chris had told me, after a few hills it does tend to get a bit flatter- well i ask you Chris, after how many hills does it get flat? About 7 from what i recall!! Still i have the stories mate cheers!! Once again after some time with no contact with anyone i did talk to a few more animals on the road, beginning to feel a bit like Dr Doolittle! Help! There isn't a great deal to say anymore about the roads and terrain it all just seems to look the same these days. There were a few nice hills to kick back and roll down but there were also some real uphill killer's- oh what a surprise!! After around 8 or 9 hours on the road i had arrived in Exeter and man was i feeling it! It was that time to find a place to rest, why couldn't it come find me? After asking around i headed to the YHA which was a nice little place and it was on the right side of the town ready for the next day's journey to Plymouth! After chillin out and having some food and a couple of well earned beers it was time to hit the sack and get some rest!

Day 6
If i knew then what was ahead i would of stayed in weymouth for another day! I had chosen to take the B3157 towards Chickerall and what a big mistake that was, the road was narrow,no paths and after a few flat miles it was fucking up,up and up! Surely what goes up must come down? not in this fucking case! It was worth it though as the view was amazing and i got a free bootle of water from the lady in the ice cream van-you were a bit strange but very kind! If your ever in that area go to 'Tulk's Hill' it's worth it.Hooray! Its down hill! Its a narrow road but fuck the cars ive got as much right as them they can either go round or fucking wait! Fuck em!! Down into a little town called 'Bridport' then what a suprise up hill out!! After feeling like a yo-yo i had made it to 'Lyme Regis' and was well and truly fucked in more ways than 1, i had no place to stay, very little money and wasnt sure what to do, then i meet an old dude 'Chris' who took me to where he normally sleeps, an entrance of an antiques place! He went and got some cardboard and made up a little one man tardis-it was sick! and it was actually warm and comfortable! Chris your a legend, you will never get to see this but thanks all the same, enjoyed your stories! The guy had lived on the streets everywhere from 'Spain' to 'India'!
Day 5
After a shit load of coffee it was time to hit the road! After a few hours it fucking pissed down! Got fucking soaked and had to get the fuck out of there as i just wasnt able to skate! I owe the trip about 15miles which i will do on the way back into Maidstone-i know im going to regret that but it's only fair!! I had to get a bus out of where i was for my own safety! Once ot had eased off it was back on the road which was fucking dodgy, big soft wheels are all good in dry conditions but on wet ground it can be pretty scary and at points did think i was going to end up like the hedgehog i ollied on the way to 'southsea' ,sorry it wasn't a live on Kelly! After a while it had dried up and it was time to stop fucking about! It was onto the A35 which was an ok road in places, heading towards 'Bloxworth' then on to 'Dorchester', after hitting Dorchester the heavens opened again and at this point was getting pretty fucked off-at this point i had been on the road for 4 days and am constantly shouting out loud if it started raining! Starting to go a bit mad! Even talking to the sheep and cows for fuck sake! After taking shelter it was time to push on, back on the road it was time to get the last bit done and so down the A354 i went to Weymouth which was a fucking narly road, eventually made it and more importantly in one piece! fucking soaking wet and miserable it was time to find shelter! At this point im not sure what my body is saying but it isn't good!
Day 4
I left Portsmouth via the passenger ferry to Gosport, i stayed on my board so technically was skating well on water anyway, i must add there were times that 'google' map said my current location was in the sea, when actually i was on the road miles from it! From Gosport it was another nice flat run through to Lee-on-Solent then on to Locks Heath and Burlsden. From there it was onto the Hythe ferry for a short trip, again staying on my board! After that it was westbound to Lymington which was fucking hard work and took it out of me, oh what a suprise another painfull stretch to Christchurch! But then again the rewards came and it was back on the smooth promenade all the way to Bournemouth! Once there it was time to chill out and eat and rest, i chilled out on the beach for a while-well untill 4am as i really did crash out! Hit McDonalds for some much needed coffee and bagel! Weymouth next!!!
